Participants relive the thrill of civil war era live fire combat through the North-South Skirmish Association.

Video taken at the 120th National Cannon Match at Fort Shenandoah near Winchester, Virginia on October 3rd, 2009. Includes video of Rifles, Smoothbores, and Howitzers firing for score at bulls-eyes and silhouettes. All cannons fire at 200 yards in this competition except the Howitzers that fire at targets 100 yards distant.

There was a special twilight smoothbore event held at the 123rd N-SSA Nationals on 05-21-2011, to mark the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War. Teams were comprised of "all stars" representing their respective N-SSA region. Featured is the Western Region team, which included commander Kevin Herrick of the 46th Illinois Volunteer Infantry.

http://SkirmishNotes.com On Saturday Evening, May 19th, 2012, the North-South Skirmish Association held a Live Fire Night-time Cannon Match. A selection of 15 guns blasted away in the darkness, the bright orange flashes silhouetting gun crew hard at work. Targets were 2 Gallon Milk Jugs and a Bullseye Target.
