Dear Fellow Skirmisher,

For the time the 9th Virginia Cavalry is proud to host the 23rd Early Bird Skirmish at Fort Shenandoah. This year, the skirmish is scheduled for March 19-11, 2012 and once again, we are hoping for good weather to kick off the Skirmish Season. In case of inclement weather, you will be notified by phone, email and/or N-SSA Website of a change in dates.

As in the past, we will be having the following Company Competitions: Musket, Carbine, Revolver, Repeater, and Smoothbore. Uniforms are to be worn for all Company Competitions.
To enroll in any Company event, please complete the enclosed “Application for Participation – Early Bird Skirmish” and remit the monies required.

Individual Competition will start on Friday Morning at 0900 hours, end at 1700 hours and start again Saturday morning at 0800 hours until 1330 hours.
We will be giving away 241 medals during the 3-day weekend so plan on coming out and enjoy the fun.

Enclosed in the packet, you will find a Application for Participation, an overview of the time events and notes of interest, a program of Events and a Medals listing to entice everyone’s participation.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the 23rd Early Bird Skirmish and hope you enjoyed your winter season. I wish everyone well over the next 2 months and just like you, I look forward to the start of another fun year of Skirmishing.

you made it a very successful shoot. i believe all enjoyed the weather, the camaraderie, and the events.
we apologize for the few SNAFUs; but we'll get better.
