Competition Categories

Competition Categories

Each competitor is responsible for choosing the category in which he or she will compete. Competitors may request the advice of the registrar or other committee staff members. Competitors may compete in one or more of the following categories:

Children

Registration Fees

  • N-SSA Members and adult dependents - $5.00
  • N-SSA dependent children - $3.00
  • Non NSSA Affiliation - $10.00 for adults &
  • $5.00 for children 12 and under (boy's military and civilian included)

Special Awards

The Susan Brisbin Special Project award is presented at each nationals. The costume committee determines the single item for this competition. The item could be an underpinning, accessory, or specific article of clothing.

  • The item may be for a man, woman or child.
  • Items are judged on a point system.

Judging for the Special projects is held on Saturday of each nationals and you must register for this competition.

Spring 2011 Special Project: A Cravat or a Tie

  • The design must have been commonly executed between 1855 and 1865.

Fall 2011: Garters or Garder Belts for adult or child.

A registration fee will be charged if this is the only category the competitor is registered for.
