Gen'l. Wm. T. Sherman's Bodyguard (7th Independent Company of Ohio Sharpshooters) is a Northern Ohio based Unit that belongs to the Midwest Region of the North-South Skirmish Association and participates in Civil War timed, rapid fire events in at least 10 skirmishes a year locally (Ohio and Indiana) and twice a year at Fort Shenandoah — our Headquarters Range which is located just outside of Winchester, Virginia.

The purpose of our existence is to preserve the history of the Civil War period and to participate in demonstrations, skirmishes, parades and other activities which allows other persons to learn about the Civil War period and to afford our members a place to shoot their original and reproduction Civil War guns in timed competitions. We fire Civil War muskets, carbines and revolvers as a team.
