Welcome to the home of the an N-SSA organization

This is the world wide web home of the "Alligator Horses", the "Bold Cavaliers", "Morgan's Men", the 2nd KY Cavalry.  The group was formed by John Hunt Morgan in 1862 after the battle of Shiloh.  It consisted mostly of remnants of his former command the Lexington Rifles.  Between the years of '62 and '63 Gen. Morgan and his men rode daring raids through Kentucky and Tennessee causing havoc and disorder with Union logistics.  Eventually his rides lead to massive raid across Indiana and Ohio.  Gen. Morgan established himself as a fierce fighter and excellent leader brining innovative tactics to Cavalry warfare.  On September 4, 1864 Gen. Morgan was caught off guard near Greenville, TN and was murdered after surrendering to Union forces.
Now in the 21st century Morgan's men take the field to do battle again against their foes, but this time in friendly competition.  As a member of the Midwest Region of the North-South Skirmish Association the 2nd Ky Cav takes up arms to compete in Musket, Carbine, Revolver, and Breechloader individual and team competition.
