of the 2nd KY Cavalry N-SSA Team
In 1954 Ed Price and Bill Waters reactivated the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry. The team was qualified at the 1955 National at Fort Meade and is a Charter Member of the N-SSA. Early competition was held in Greenfield, Friendship, and the Nationals due to isolated the geographic position of the team. In the late 50's, the Civil War Centennial peeked interest in the sport and it began to grow and the 2nd began showing signs of a winning team.
In December 1959 the last Confederate veteran, Walter Williams past away in Houston, Texas and to represent Kentucky the 2nd was asked to join the honor guard in the funeral march. Since that time there have been many more teams added and new ranges to shoot at. The 2nd has changed throughout time as well. New members along with some of the old guard have brought many glorious days to the team.
