In Memoriam - Stan Tweed

  Stan Tweed, long-time member of the N-SSA 110th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and Midwest Region, passed away in late May of this year. In addition to being a decorated combat veteran of World War II, Stan was the finest all-around skirmisher to ever come out of the Midwest region, proficient with musket, carbine and revolver.

The following are but a few of Stan's many accomplishments.

  • Member of 5 National musket championship units with the 110th OVI.

  • Winner of 12 National Grand Aggregates, including 5 consecutive.

  • Winner of 6 Georgia Hussar National Musket aggregate awards.

  • Multiple no-miss skirmishes, including a run of 56 birds on boards in a row.

  • The Stan Tweed Musket Aggregate Award is awarded annually by the Midwest region in Stan's honor and memory.
