Midwest Regional Meeting
November 10, 2007
Ron
Lucke of the VFW addressed the meeting. He said the backstop had shrunk about
two feet, so they built it up to 12’. They are going to put some roads in the
camping area also. After the roads are in they want to plant some trees in the
vending area.

Talked about assessments due,
and getting dues and late fee’s for members not reported at the MW level.
Inspector’s report
Trigger
weights for region. Motion to purchase a set for the region. M 19th IN,
2nd RBA. Motion passed. Kent
Snyder was going to see about getting a professional discount.
Phil Spaugy said each team
should have their own set also.
Deputy Commander’s report
Targeting and medals status. See report.
Motion to purchase material as needed up to 1500.00 for
next years shoots. M Harris Light Cav, 2nd SBG Motion passed.
Kent Snyder made a Motion to purchase 150 bronze
medals. 2nd 19th IN. Motion passed.

Summary from August BoD
meeting (in package)
Region didn’t like the clay pot profile’s material
at nationals. Would rather buy pots and pay more.
Veterans skirmish date firmed
up. Anchored 3rd Friday in July.
Feeling of the region was
“postal” shoots are a bad idea.
Discussion of allowing
potential recruits the ability to shoot during individuals.
Cmdr. Strang commented on tenure,
region successes, future, etc.
Old business
Both 50 yd and 100 yd musket trophies
are full. 19th wants to
sponser 100 musket. Re-name it the “Marvin Pike Jr. Memorial 100yd Musket
Trophey
RBA
and 2nd KY will re-sponser the 50yd plaques.

Region needs to replace the PA system and air bottle

Robey offered to build a PA system for $900.00-1000.00
Eric
Schussler said he was still putting a tank together. Bobby Seng offered to put
one together that was a small scuba tank, could be re-filled for free.
Adjutant
Yarling made motion to have Bob Seng purchase and assemble a new tank for the
region. 2nd UG. Motion

Discussion of 117th
(Spring) Nationals duties.
Discuss and adopt 2008 region
skirmish schedule. Skirmish applications
to Commander Snyder by Jan. 30! M 2nd
Ky, 2nd 19th IN to accept 2008 schedule. Motion passed
2nd KY will host
the July MW regional (instead of the UG). Centerburg may not be available,
Pleasant Hill is the back-up. (tentatively)
Kent Snyder proposed taking
teams out of the rotation that host a skirmish every year. After much
discussion Commander-Elect Snyder asked the teams to give it some serious
thought. Discussion was tabled until next year.
